Mysimba may also be suitable for those who have a BMI between 27 and 30 who have additional health conditions related to their weight such as high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes.
Although Mysimba is designed for those who have a BMI of over 30, your medical history and other medications may mean it isn't right for you.
Speak to your doctor before taking Mysimba if:
You are allergic to naltrexone hydrochloride, bupropion hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet
You suffer from hypertension
You have a brain tumour
You have liver or kidney disease
You have a history of eating or mental disorders
You have a condition that causes fits
You drink alcohol heavily
Mysimba should also not be used to treat childhood obesity and should be used with caution in older patients over the age of 65.
If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding you should not take Mysimba, consult your doctor for further advice.
